Intro:

For the first project in my 2018 Object Oriented design class, I will be designing a pair of LED interactive Roller Skates. The prompt for this project was to design a toy for a certain user. The user I am designing for is myself and other Rad Roller Girls and the toy is interactive Roller Skates. My idea is to attach sensors and LEDS to the roller blades and program the LEDs to blink and change colors when certain interactions take place. I hope to design a project that is visually appealing, interesting to watch, and fun to use.

Interactions:

The interactions I will be monitoring with a sensor are acceleration forward, speed backwards, toe contact, heel contact and shifting weight from one foot to an other. I plan on using accelerators, pressure sensors, and potentially mechanical switches for user settings to control the LEDS. I plan on using strips of addressable LEDs to attach to the bottom of the shoes.
